OSHA Directive: Severe Violator Enforcement Program (SVEP)

The Severe Violator Enforcement Program [SVEP] program directive went into effective June 6th 2010. We have attached a copy of this news release which references the OSHA directive for the Severe Violator Enforcement Program (SVEP) This 32 page directive covers general industry, construction, shipyards, marine terminals and longshoring operations. This program will focus on ‘High-Emphasis Hazards’ such as:

Fall Hazards within ALL Industries
Amputation Hazards: control of hazardous energy [LOTO], general industry-all machines, woodworking machines, mechanical power presses and mechanical power-transmission apparatus.
Combustible Dust
Crystalline Silica Hazards
Lead Hazards
Excavation and Trenching
